Terrapin AV was founded on a simple frustration: the AV industry has incredible smart and premium technologies, mostly built for the indoors to just to go on a bookshelf, with no consideration or solutions for where we really want to put them. Installers and end-users alike were improvising with generic enclosures, leaving hardware exposed to elements, and ultimately using solutions that seemed great on day one, but failed in the long haul. We set out to fix those exact issues, and to offer an alternative to the everyday boring options.

Our Story

Terrapin AV designs and manufactures purpose-built enclosures and bespoke installation hardware for the AV market. Every product we make starts with a real installation problem — Our team brings together deep experience from the AV integration world, as well as industrial design and materials engineering, all to create simplistic thoughtful solutions that are practical and ideally affordable.

Our designs are patent-pending, built around universal compatibility, and tested for the environments where AV equipment actually lives — attics, soffits, behind tv's and of course outside.

Our Engineering Philosophy

Making enclosures that work with as many products as possible is ideal, certainly some products require purpose built systems, but ideally a single 'universal' enclosure is what we strive for where possible, giving users flexibility down the road. And we obsess over tolerances, materials, and mounting systems so that installers can focus on the job, not the hardware.

Our designs are continuously refined based on feedback from the field. If something can be better, we strive to make it better.
