Product Warranty Policy

1. WARRANTY COVERAGE & PERIODS Terrapin AV (herein referred to as Company, Us, Our) warrants that Terrapin-branded products will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for the periods listed below and per the following terms:

 The warranty period begins on the date of original retail purchase, as indicated on the proof of purchase. This warranty covers Terrapin provided parts, or whole products, replacement costs, and if the repair is performed by Terrapin, all reasonable labor costs at Our discretion.

  • 12 Months: All Speaker Enclosures, Speakers, Amplifiers, Equipment Enclosures, Equipment Covers or similar.
  • 3 Months: All speaker grilles, accessories, and any replacement parts.

2. WHO IS COVERED This warranty is valid only from the date of the original retail purchase, with a valid proof of purchase from Terrapin AV or an authorized Terrapin AV reseller. The warranty follows the product and is exercisable for the Owner, this warranty is not transferrable or extendable. It does not cover products purchased second-hand, As-Is, or from 3rd Party or Marketplace resellers, or from any other unauthorized entities.

 

3. WHAT IS NOT COVERED (EXCLUSIONS) This warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear.
  • Damage resulting from improper installation, misuse, abuse, negligence, or modification.
  • Damage caused by Acts of God or extreme environmental conditions beyond the product's rated specifications.
  • Third-party products that may be installed in a Terrapin product.
  • Damage caused by use with non-approved 3rd party products, accessories, or parts.
  • Damage or defects caused by improper self-repair or the use of non-Terrapin replacement parts.

 

4. HOW TO OBTAIN WARRANTY SERVICE To make a claim an owner will follow these steps:

A. Submit a Request: Warranty claims must be initiated by the original owner through the contact form on the official Terrapin website. Please include the product make/model and a description of the defect.

    • Reseller Assistance: Authorized Terrapin AV resellers may, at their option, facilitate and manage a warranty claim on behalf of their customer.
    • Required Documentation: Whether submitted by the owner or an authorized reseller, all claims require valid proof of purchase (a receipt showing the original owners purchase date, price, and model number) and the device’s serial number (if applicable).

B. Determine Repairs & Fix: We will work to diagnose the issues, and the most appropriate fix for the problem, and the most efficient way to complete that fix.

    • Service Center: If determine the issue is too extensive to complete the repair locally, we will give the option to ship the product to Our facility for further service. The person requesting Warranty Support is responsible for shipping costs to Our facility. We will repair or replace the unit and cover the return shipping cost back.
    • Self-Repair: We may determine the fix is simple and may opt to ship the necessary replacement/repair parts and instructions at Our cost. If the Owner is not comfortable making the repairs we recommend contacting a local professional for help (*any associated 3rd party costs incurred are not covered by this warranty).


5. RIGHT TO REPAIR We support the Right to Repair - to facilitate this, we make reasonable efforts to maintain and offer for sale replacement parts and repair documentation for our products for up to two (2) years after a product is discontinued. Please note that parts availability and pricing are subject to change without notice.

 

6. SELF REPAIR DISCLAIMER & ASSUMPTION OF RISK By performing self-repair or having a 3rd party make repairs, downloading repair documentation, or utilizing replacement parts, the product owner assumes all risks and costs associated with the repair process.

Terrapin AV shall not be held liable for any personal injury, property damage, or further damage to the product resulting from improper handling, improper installation, or the use of unauthorized components.

Furthermore, any damage caused to the product during a self-repair attempt is not covered under this warranty.

 

7. LEGAL LIMITATIONS & DISCLAIMERS

  • DISCLAIMER OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES: TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE LENGTH OF THIS EXPRESS WARRANTY.
  • LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: IN NO EVENT SHALL TERRAPIN BE LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOST TIME, LABOR COSTS FOR INSTALLATION/REMOVAL, OR LOSS OF USE). TERRAPIN’S TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE ACTUAL PURCHASE PRICE OF THE PRODUCT.
  • STATE LAW RIGHTS: Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts or the exclusion of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.
  • GOVERNING LAW: This warranty is governed by the laws of the State of Delaware. Any disputes arising from this warranty shall be resolved in the courts of Delaware.
